Abigail Williams is an important character from the drama The Crucible authored by Arthur Callier. The story The Crucible is approximately how witchcraft becomes this kind of a problem in Salem. Steve Proctor, the main character, have an affair with Abigail Williams, while being married to Elizabeth Proctor. Being the mayor´s relative, gives Abigail an advantage and she starts using witchcraft in order to get eliminate Elizabeth Proctor. After analyzing the character of Abigail Williams, it is obvious that she actually is dishonest, manipulative, and hostile.

Through out the drama Abigail demonstrates just how dishonest the girl with. Since the beginning of the play, Abigail lies about everything, therefore things will turn out her way. At the beginning of the story, her uncle, Reverend Parris, grabs Abigail with a group of young ladies dancing naked in the forest trying to carry out witchcraft. When ever her uncle questions her behavior the lady lie about everything and say, " they were moving and never conjured spirits". Down the road in the tale, she admits that Tituba and Ruth do invokes the state of mind (every time she figures out a way to replace the story on her to stay out of trouble, not mattering what damage she might cause to others). In the story Abigail´s absolute goal is to get Ruben Proctor´s partner, Elizabeth, struggling. Abigail wishes John Proctor, but having Elizabeth since his partner really troubles her. One of several ways that she tries to full her goal of ruining Elizabeth´s life is by stabbing herself having a needle and saying that it got right now there by a " voodoo poppet" that Martha (one of Abigail´s friends) gave to Elizabeth. The lady makes them believe that the people that she accuses of doing witchcraft will be hurting her. She acts as if some type of evil force is overtaking her physique; she shouts that something happens to be attacking her, when in reality she is simply pretending.
